The $10.5 million improvement project will resurface a 6.6-mile section of U.S. 98 from east of Village Road to east of U.S. 331.
The project also includes the following improvements:
Constructing a westbound right-turn lane at Don Bishop Road.
Reconstructing existing right-turn lanes to provide (keyhole) bicycle lanes.
Adding sidewalk with American with Disabilities Act (ADA) upgrades.
Lighting enhancements at the County Road 393 and U.S. 331 intersections.
Installing a traffic signal at the U.S. 98/Sandestin Lane intersection.
Upgrading signal and pedestrian features at other signalized intersections.
New signage and pavement markings.
Lane closures will be limited to the 8:30 p.m. to 5:30 a.m. timeframe. Lane closures and other traffic impacts will not be permitted during special events and during the holidays. Access to business and other private properties will be maintained at all times
