FDOT office in Chipley

Project Details

The Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) will begin making repairs to the bridge on US 331 in Walton County. Cathodic protection systems that help control corrosion on bridge supports will be installed on various concrete piles to protect and extend the life of the bridge and reduce future repair costs. These systems serve as a means of preventing corrosion of metals using DC electric current. Most of the repair work will take place underneath the bridge on the bridge piles.

Traffic Impacts

• Since the majority of the work will take place under the bridge, traffic should not be significantly impacted.

• Drivers may experience intermittent temporary lane closures between 7 p.m. and 6 a.m. as crews perform concrete work.

• The posted speed limit of 45 mph will be maintained during construction. Motorist are urged to use caution when approaching the work zone.

Note: All information is preliminary and subject to change without notice.
