Project Details
A Project Development and Environmental (PDE) Study for State Road (S.R.) 30 (U.S. 98) from County Road (C.R.) 30A W (near Sandestin)to west of Phillips Inlet Bridge will be conducted. The purpose of this project is to evaluate future capacityneeds and traffic congestion concerns on S.R. 30 (U.S. 98) from C.R. 30A near Sandestin to West of Phillips InletBridge.This route also provides a critical east-west corridor connecting to U.S. 331 which provides animportant northbound hurricane evacuation route.S.R. 30 (U.S. 98) is part of the Florida Department of Transportation's Strategic Intermodal System (SIS) and isdesignated as an SIS Corridor. The SIS is the state's highest priority for transportation capacity investmentsand was enacted to focus the state's limited transportation resources on facilities most significant forinterregional, interstate and international travel. S.R. 30 (U.S. 98) is an important route in Northwest Florida andis the only east-west corridor that traverses the entirety of Walton County south of Choctawhatchee Bay.
