Project Details

The Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) began a $4.3 million construction project to replace the existing bridge culvert on North Ninth Avenue (State Road 289) over Carpenters Creek. The work also include resurfacing North Ninth Avenue between Royce Street and Bayou Boulevard and a portion of Carpenters Creek Drive.

Additional improvements will include drainage upgrades; new curb and gutter; lighting system improvements; and new signage, pavement markings, guardrail, and sidewalks.

The project is estimated to be complete in mid-2022.

Traffic Impacts

Travel lanes are temporarily shifted to SB side of bridge while crews are constructing the NB side. Vehicle lane widths may be narrowed to 10-feet and the speed limit will be lowered to 30 mph. Drivers may encounter intermittent temporary lane closures while crews mobilize materials and equipment.

Note: All information is preliminary and subject to change without notice.
