Project Details
The Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) began a $4.3 million construction project to replace the existing bridge culvert on North Ninth Avenue (State Road 289) over Carpenters Creek. The work also include resurfacing North Ninth Avenue between Royce Street and Bayou Boulevard and a portion of Carpenters Creek Drive.
Additional improvements will include drainage upgrades; new curb and gutter; lighting system improvements; and new signage, pavement markings, guardrail, and sidewalks.
The project is estimated to be complete in mid-2022.
Traffic Impacts
During construction there will be periodic lane closures, lane shifts, and temporary changes in the traffic pattern. Traffic will be reduced to one lane in each direction, vehicle lane widths will be narrowed to 10-feet, and the speed limit will be lowered to 30 mph.
