Project Details

The Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) is conducting a Project Development and Environmental (PD&E) Study for US 331 in north Walton County, Florida. The project extends from SR 10 (US 90) to the Alabama state line.

The purpose of the US 331 PD&E Study is to develop and evaluate transportation solutions to address existing and future traffic capacity and mobility needs. Proposed improvements to be evaluated include widening, realignment, safety, traffic operations and/or access management solutions. Major intersections will be analyzed to assess capacity needs and improve the flow of traffic. Potential improvements will also consider bicycle lanes and sidewalks, where applicable. The preferred alternative may differ for each study segment, based on the need and impacts on surrounding communities. The study team will prepare the required technical supporting and environmental documents to receive study approval from FHWA and advance the preferred alternative into final design.

An important part of the PD&E Study process is a public involvement program that will offer numerous opportunities for public participation. The public involvement program will encourage participation by the public, agencies, elected and appointed officials, and other stakeholders.
