U.S. 29 (North Palafox Street) from U.S. 90 (Cervantes Street) to State Road 296 (Brent Lane/Beverly Parkway)

Project Details

The intent of these U.S. 29 projects is to resurface existing travel lanes, auxiliary lanes, and construct sidewalks where none exist.Additional features include:

1. Realigning S.R. 292 (Pace Boulevard) intersection to improve traffic flow

*Access to Pace Boulevard from Massachusetts Avenue will become right out only

*Massachusetts Avenue will no longer have direct access to U.S. 29

2. Safety and mobility improvements from U.S. 90 (Cervantes Street) to West Scott Street

*Reducing the number of lanes from four to two-lanes

*Constructing seven-foot bike lanes and a five-foot buffer zone

3. Upgrading traffic signals and pedestrian features to meet Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) standardsMinor right-of-way acquisition will be required at the following intersections:

West Leonard Street

S.R. 295 (Fairfield Drive)

S.R. 292 (Pace Boulevard)

Bids for construction are scheduled to occur Spring 2023.
