Project Details

FDOT in cooperation with the Federal Highway Administration (FHWA) and the U.S. Department of Defense is improving State Road (S.R.) 30 (U.S. 98) through Tyndall Air Force Base (AFB) in Bay County. This project involves a one-mile segment of U.S. 98 centered at the intersection of U.S. 98 and Airey Avenue/Tyndall Drive at the Tyndall AFB main gate. The improvements will elevate the U.S. 98 travel lanes above Airey Avenue/Tyndall Drive and Louisiana Avenue to separate Tyndall AFB base traffic from U.S. 98 through traffic. Construction is currently estimated for completion in mid-2023.

Traffic Impacts

Construction activities are weather dependent and might be delayed or rescheduled in the event of inclement weather. Motorists are reminded to use caution and to watch for heavy equipment and construction workers entering and exiting the roadway.
