Project Details

The proposed Gulf Coast Parkway will provide a connection between U.S. 98 in Gulf County with U.S. 231 (north of Panama City) and U.S. 98 in Bay County. The proposed new four-lane divided, controlled-access, arterial highway will provide an urban typical section with bicycle lanes and sidewalks in urban areas and a rural typical section with a shared use path in rural areas. The proposed new road will also provide a new high level bridge across the Intracoastal Waterway (ICWW) to connect U.S. 98 in Gulf County with U.S. 231 and U.S. 98 (Tyndall Parkway) in Bay County. Because there are limited transportation facilities in the study area the proposed project will provide more efficient links between the coastal areas of Gulf County and major transportation facilities, employment, and shopping areas within and north of the Panama City urbanized area.
